About
Hello and welcome! I’m Ilgi Anderson. I offer individualized therapy and counseling designed to meet your specific needs, guiding you toward personal growth, well-being, and empowerment. My approach is holistic, addressing your mind, body, and overall well-being.
ABOUT
During my studies, I had multiple opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge in psychology. I completed internships at the Izmir Courthouse as an Assistant Family Court Advisor and at a kindergarten as a clinical psychology intern. For my Bachelor’s thesis, I conducted lab-based research collecting skin conductance response data to examine the effect of looming noise on physiological arousal. My Master’s dissertation focused on the effects of personality traits and physical activity on Hyperventilation Syndrome.
I completed APA-accredited courses in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) at Rational Psychology (affiliated with the Albert Ellis Institute, Turkey). Through these programs, I gained advanced therapeutic skills and experience in CBT and REBT strategies for conditions such as OCD, trauma and grief, ADHD, internet and gaming addiction, anger management, eating disorders, anxiety and phobias, and depression, working with both adults and children.
After completing my Master’s, I worked in the UK with students aged 6 to 18, across both mainstream and special education schools. I supported students with diverse needs, including different levels of Autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, helping them build academic and life skills, encouraging personal growth, and providing individual and group music therapy sessions.
Currently, I work in my own clinic in İzmir, where my practice focuses on supporting individuals with a range of psychological, emotional, and developmental needs, including neurodiverse clients.
I take a holistic, neuroaffirming approach in my practice and incorporate bio-guided music therapy to support emotional regulation and overall well-being.
I aim to create a supportive space for neurodiverse individuals to grow and thrive. I hope to contribute to a world where diverse ways of thinking, learning, and experiencing life are included and appreciated.
